The theme of Quarters is IGNITE! It will be at RiverStone Health (123 S 27th St) in the Lil Anderson building – the four story building on the North side of campus.
Three local speakers will be discussing all aspects of life. A life coach, a business coach, and a confidence coach. Each speaker will have a dynamic 20-minute presentation about how we can Ignite the fire within us. NextGENNERS will leave Quarters feeling excited and ready to take on any challenge they face.
Martha Rowe – Martha Rowe Coaching
Martha works with clients who are ready to move from frustration to fulfillment. We all experience times when we know a change is needed – but don’t know how to start. We work together to step away from the unnecessary stress and drama and move into a life of deeper confidence in our innate wisdom. Working together, we can uncover the limiting beliefs that trap you, and discover new and healthy ways to transition into a freer, more joyful life. Recover your deepest sense of self and move forward into richer, more authentic life.
Martha has spent over three joyful decades in the university music world, first as a vocal coach/accompanist and then as head of vocal studies at New Mexico State University. Her doctorate is from The University of Arizona with other degrees from the University of New Mexico. She is a certified Life Coach with Martha Beck Inc.
Shelby Jo Long-Hammond – Business Dynamics and Rocky Mountain College professor
Shelby is a professor and director of the debate program at Rocky Mountain College since 2006. Her concentration in the world of communication centers around business communication. She teaches courses in Organizational Communication, Business Communication, Persuasion, Small Group Communication, Public Speaking, Political Communication and debate.
Her consulting and executive coaching work has been with non-profit organizations, real estate agents, and government agencies. With her experience in the realm of business communication, she has been asked to speak for training sessions at several companies. Her business coaching method helps clarify business practices, align your business systems with your mission and goals, and empower the leadership in your business to create a productive and profitable business culture. The Business Dynamics method helps you create a stronger team, a better business and a more profitable company. The strategies help you prepare for the next level of growth and profit.
Shelby’s work in persuasion and debate has also inspired her to develop an advocacy and leadership training program in the Tribal Colleges in Montana. She interacts with students at the tribal colleges in collaborative small group work with local issues that spur discussion. Her collaboration has produced a creative advocacy network at these colleges that is drawing national attention. Shelby’s extensive experience in coaching a college debate program has taken her all over the world. She has worked with students from Morocco, Bosnia, Slovenia, Mexico, and Ireland.
William Breon Henry – Be Better and Big Sky Ballin’
William B. Henry is the founder of Be Better World LLC, an anti-bullying campaign geared towards empowering youth to deal with the symptoms of bullying before it becomes a serious issue. His stance takes a different approach as he calls on the parental unit to be a part of the solution. Be Better has gained National attention and his motto is “We All Play A Role”.
William is also the owner of Big Sky Ballin’ LLC. Big Sky Ballin’ is a sports organization responsible for putting on one of the largest 3 on 3 outdoor basketball tournaments in the Northwest Region, Above the Rim, which is now in its 7th year. Along with Above the Rim, Big Sky Ballin’ also runs several youth sports leagues and tournaments throughout the year.
Before devoting most of his time to Be Better and Big Sky Ballin’, William served as a Vice President for a billion dollar not for profit organization. He obtained his Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Florida and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. William has spoken at several local and national conferences.
In addition to founding Be Better, William spends time mentoring youth and he takes pride in making a genuine difference in their lives. William lives in Billings, Montana with his lovely wife, Yolawnda, and his outgoing daughter, Bria.
