Montana Registered Apprenticeship Program (MT Dept. of Labor & Industry)
|My name is Bo Bruinsma and I am originally from Elk Point, South Dakota. I moved to Montana in 2015 and started working for the State of Montana out of our Billings office after graduating from the University of South Dakota with a B.A. in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Since October 2017, I’ve worked in a statewide role as the Equity Coordinator for the Montana Registered Apprenticeship Program, a workforce training program within the Montana Department of Labor & Industry. My role within our program is to work with businesses, education providers, and organizations that work with historically underrepresented populations (women, Native Americans, youth, low income adults, veterans, people with disabilities, etc.) across Montana to build apprenticeship programs and develop pathways/remove barriers into those programs for those targeted populations.
Outside of work, I like to stay active enough that I don’t feel bad when I indulge in a few Montana craft beers, watch my favorite sports teams continuously disappoint me, and spend time with my family, friends, and dog.
