Jena Lee Wagner
Jena Lee is a go-getter, goal orientated with a genuine personality. Tell her she can’t and she will prove you wrong. She prefers to be the underdog because she only has room for improvement. She works better under pressure when stakes are high and enjoys rising to the occasion. She believes the words of Bruce Lee best describe her attitude “Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one”.
Jena is currently a marketing specialist at PayneWest Insurance and a co-owner of JL Farms as show cattle operation. Her background is not like a conventional college student. She took an advisor’s advice “Don’t let your school get in the way of your education,” this advice gave her a different outlook on her college education. After a year of college she took up online classes to give her the flexibility to further her education outside of the classroom. During her last three and half years of college, she interned with the Genex Cooperative, Inc., American Angus Association, Montana Angus Association and American Angus Auxiliary. These internships taught her marketing, event planning, graphic design, communication and fundraising skills. Jena also was able to travel coast to coast with the American Angus Association during her internship. In the fall of 2015, she graduated from Montana State Billings with a degree in mass communications.
Jena has a strong agricultural background from being raised on a registered Angus cattle ranch. Jena and her sister, Jordyn, are co-owners of a ranch called JL Farms. Their parents named the ranch after Jena Lee and Jordyn Lynn. They raise registered Angus show cattle and have been very successful showing cattle all across the country at local, regional and national shows. Jena was previously on the 2012-2014 National Junior Angus Board as their membership director. The National Junior Angus Board consists of six juniors from across the country elected each year by the National Junior Angus Association membership. The juniors that are elected to the board have a two year term to travel across the country to represent the breed and association by putting on shows, workshops and conferences for the junior membership. Jena’s sister is caring on that legacy; she was elected to the National Junior Angus Board the summer of 2016.
At PayneWest, Jena is involved in developing marketing strategies for projects, campaigns and events including the company’s website and social media. Work closely with the sales teams on program development and implementation with the creation and design of promotional materials.
